CHASING MARRIAGE BLISS

Breaking down walls, allowing vulnerability and showing respect

Partnership

Warren Buffett said, “the most important decision in life is who you marry (spend your life with).” I wasn’t sure I would get married. The thought of forever with someone terrified me. I didn’t know who I would become, and I wasn’t sure whether my needs and wants would stay the same. That was until the day I met my husband. My greatest growth and happiness has occurred while I’ve been married. We have a healthy marriage because we both put in the time necessary to “grow together” rather than “grow apart.” Like anything good in life, a partnership takes work and at least one daily check-in to align and support one another. There are many ingredients that go into baking a happy relationship, such as listening, showing respect, allowing vulnerability and compassion, disagreeing without getting defensive, allowing loving critique for mutual improvement and wanting the other person to feel happy, safe and fulfilled. Through my experiences, I aim to coach you through moving away from a state of protection to one of safety in knowing what love should feel and look like as you identify the type of relationship that supports, grounds, and brings happiness to your life.
